For those looking for walks in nature or a swim during the summer months, there are two very popular spots in Qala and close surroundings – Ħondoq ir-Rummien and Daħlet Qorrot. Both spots crystal clear azure waters and footpaths to walk on where one can enjoy some beautiful and picturesque landscapes.
For some outdoor family fun activities there is a horse riding centre just 600m away from the hotel, or roughly 8 minutes away on foot.
Mgarr harbour is also in relative proximity (10 minute by car) for those who are coming from the main island or going there on an excursion.
From Malta International Airport, one can take public transport (bus numbers 41 and 42) or a taxi to Ċirkewwa ferry terminal to Gozo, approximately 30km or a 45-minute drive by car. A regular ferry service carries passengers and cars between Malta’s northern most point of Ċirkewwa to Mġarr, Gozo’s main harbour, in approximately 25 minutes. A fast ferry service for passengers on foot operates from the capital Valletta to Mgarr harbour (Gozo) in less than 45 minutes. Once in Mġarr, Gozo one can take a bus or cab to Qala, which is roughly a 10 minutes drive by car.
If you are arriving in Gozo by car and you do not have an onboard GPS system, follow the signs towards Qala village, which is to the east of Mġarr Harbour, and head towards the village square. Locals will happily help in showing directions towards Triq Ta’ Gulju where the hotel is located.
Once arrived in Mgarr harbour, take the 303 bus from the stop just outside the ferry terminal to Qala. Drivers will let you know where the closest bus stop to the hotel is located.
